What is an Official Local Search?

An Official Local Search is required when a property is up for sale and a purchaser is interested in buying it. An Official Local Search can be purchased for a Residential property or a Commercial property and is produced by the local authority. An Official Local Search is usually required by a solicitor but can also be purchased by the party which is interested in buying the property in question. An Official Local Search contains information which is property specific and details information such as Land Charges, Planning Applications, Building Control History and Permitted Developments are provided in a Local Authority Search.

Residential or Commercial?

If the property you require an Official Local Search completing on is a dwelling such as a flat, house or apartment then a Residential Official Local Search can be ordered. However, if you are looking to buy a business premises then a Commercial Official Local Search will be required. A Commercial Official Local Search can be ordered on factories, units, shops and even piece of land.

Buying an Official Local Search

From here you select whether the property you require a Local Authority Search ordering and click next.
